CM-08: The College of Staten Island Curriculum Committee Records
Scope and Contents
The Curriculum Committee records contain meeting meetings of the committee from the official inception of the College of Staten Island in September 1976 through October 1983.
Series 1: Meeting Minutes
The structure of the Curriculum Committee changed during the first academic year, as the institutional integration of SICC and Richmond College evolved over time. The two colleges agreed to create a Joint Curriculum Committee during the 1976-1977 academic year. Therefore, minutes exist for both the Curriculum Committee - Sunnyside Campus, which had been SICC's campus, and the newly created Joint Curriculum Committee for the 1976-1977 academic year. Meeting minutes for subsequent academic years are for the College Curriculum Committee, which appears to be the continuation of the Joint Curriculum Committee.
There are meeting minutes of the SICC Curriculum Committee available for 1968-May 1976. These minutes are housed with the SICC Records. There are no Curriculum Committee records available for Richmond College.
It appears that coverage of minutes is comprehensive for both the Curriculum Committee - Sunnyside Campus and the College Curriculum Committee for 1976-1981. If there was a separate Curriculum Committee for the St. George Campus during the 1976-1977 academic year, there is no record of it in the College Archives.
Series 2: Memoranda
Series two contains a number of memoranda related to the activities of the College Curriculum Committee. Of note are reports on the Honors Program and the B.S. in Liberal Studies and memoranda on the merger of Richmond College and Staten Island Community College.
